The Sussex Bird Report
Published by the Sussex Ornithological Society in November/December, the annual bird report contains:
- a review of the year
- the systematic list
- escapes and feral birds
- first and last migrant dates
- heathland breeding birds table
- the Sussex ringing report
- other reports and scientific papers
New members receive a free copy of the latest Sussex Bird Report as well as the one published during their year of membership. Non-members can purchase a copy for £13 (includes P & P) from Val Bentley. Please contact Val at mandpcommittee@sos.org.uk if you would like to buy one.

Publications for Members
Members receive four issues of the SOS Newsletter each year which includes all the latest on birding in Sussex, Society news, sightings for the past quarter, articles and contributions from Society members as well of details of events for members such as birdwatching walks. All new members will receive the newsletter as a PDF by email.
Any existing member who would like to switch from print to e-newsletter can request this by emailing newsletter@sos.org.uk. This not only saves paper (and reduces printing costs for the Society) but from time to time the e-newsletter contains more pages (including more photos of Sussex birds, taken by members) than the printed version.
