SOS Conference & AGM 18 April 2026 – open to all
We have a fresh look for our Annual Conference with a new format and venue for 2026.
A chance to catch up with old birding friends and see presentations from around the county including a keynote presentation from Dr. Mya-Rose Craig aka “Birdgirl”, as well as talks on migratory passerines, Corn Buntings on the South Downs, rewilding Sussex, House Martins, conservation initiatives at Sidlesham and the river Adur, and much more.
Non-members are very welcome, with a suggested £5.00 donation that can be made at the welcome desk.

The walks listed below are primarily for members only, but if you wish to attend as a visitor or guest please send an email to outings@sos.org.uk giving your name and which outing you’d like to attend. Parents and/or guardians of children (under 18) wishing to attend an outing or event should contact us to discuss appropriate arrangements. Contact details can be found in our Safeguarding policy. Please note that no dogs are allowed on SOS walks.
The online webinars are for everyone to enjoy.
The conference/AGM is free to members. Members don’t need to book. If any non-member would like to book a place please contact the conference organiser David Porter at dfp47@btinternet.com.

From A27 take A22, turn left onto B2191 then shortly right onto Sevenoaks road car park on it. Half day (under three miles). Wellington boots advised. Wetland habitat and birds. No facilities. Meet at gates on N side of Cissbury Ring (road approach from Nepcote Lane, Findon) at 9.30 ///marine.amphibian.servers. Parking along the track here usually possible but an alternative is to use the car park signed from A24 Findon and take the path left and walk up to the meeting point. Public transport: Stagecoach route 1 from Worthing Station. Chalk downland, some ascents/descents can be slippery when wet. Half day looking for migrants. Show Map

Meet in Seven Sisters Country Park (chargeable) south of A259 at 9.30. Facilities across the road. On bus route 12 (Brighton, Seaford, Eastbourne) Walk down estuarine meanders to pools and sea for wildfowl, waders and seabirds. Half day. Show Map
